Shriners Hospitals are dedicated to reaching as many children as possible, wherever they may live. They care for their patients, conducting research to gain knowledge and develop new treatments, and provide education opportunities for physicians and other healthcare professionals. Through this network, lives of children who may not have been able to receive treatment for their injury elsewhere. These hospitals were originally set up when the US was seeing a Polio epidemic.
